Huawei is set to release its latest EMUI version, the EMUI 11 in the upcoming Huawei Development Conference 2020. The company’s custom software skin has followed the Android OS updates closely. And with the Android 11 OS speculated to launch on September 8, Huawei is gearing up to launch its own software update.
Huawei has released an official teaser post on Weibo, a Chinese microblogging website. In its post, Huawei used a very interesting phrase “mobile phones are not just mobile phones…”.
This creates intrigue and points to something possibly very interesting to be offered in Huawei EMUI 11. The Chinese company has been trying to make its electronic devices to connect with each other smoothly. Its EMUI 11 release might have a solution for this.
The teaser poster shows a mobile phone interconnected with an air-conditioner, a microwave oven, a refrigerator, and other home appliances. This possibly indicates that the upcoming software may offer a cross-platform feature which will make using the smart home appliances a more intuitive process.
According to Huawei’s consumer business software department president, Wang Chengdu, the software has been primarily developed for the application of distributed technology. He also suggested that EMUI 11 will be markedly different from EMUI 10.
Huawei did posit the idea that smartphones are more than just phones. But as of now, the company hasn’t defined what this exactly means. Reports have also circulated stating that the EMUI 11 will improve integration with Huawei Mobile Services. The Huawei EMUI 11 is rumored to be launched with Huawei Mate 40 Pro, and most of the new generation Mate series devices are expected to receive the update.
