According to an interface news report, Glory will finally make its entrance into the television industry on July 15, 2019. Even though an official member of Glory has not commented anything on this, a person related and familiar with this matter said, “It may not be officially released, but it will announce that glory will officially enter the industry. The official release date may be August or September.”
Glory has previously also released an invitation letter to the media which said, “Glory New Class Release Conference.” However, regarding the release of TVs, Huawei previously has been quite ignorant.
The interface news reported that the Huawei TV would be released in April and that it already had a target sales in mind, that of 10 million units. The screen suppliers for the same were supposed to be BOE and Huaxing Optoelectronics.
On April 12, the CEO of Huawei’s consumer business, Yu Chengdong, said that Huawei will not be using traditional TV materials, but it will be focused on building smart terminal products with screen and compatible TV functions. In order to meet this end of the bargain which establishes the kind of TV that Huawei would release, the availability of the product got shifted to the second half of the year.
On April 16, Shao Yang, the chief strategy officer of Huawei’s consumer business said that the promotion of TV product technology has been going on.
He also mentioned that there was no market preparation in the first half of the year. Though the production has been delayed, the TV has not been canceled as mentioned by the Huawei TV supply chain people. Two Huawei LCD TVs passed the 3C certification test on May 29. One of the 3C certified models are the OSCA-550/Osca-550A, and the manufacturer is Hefei BOE Video Technology Co., Ltd. Huawei will launch two models of 55 inches and 65 inch TV products later this year, as reported by the China Securities Journal.
