Huawei has launched its latest MateBook 14 2020 laptop that comes with revamped features but costs the same. Just a few days before, the design patent for the MateBook 13 2020 and the MateBook 14 2020 leaked online informing us that both the laptops will be upgraded to MX350 GPU.
The NVIDIA GeForce MX350 is built on a 14nm processor and was launched a few months back in February 2020. It is based on the GP107 graphics processor in its GP107-670-A1 variant and features 640 shading units, 32 texture mapping units, and 16 ROPs. The GPU comes packed with 2GB GDDR5 memory.
The Huawei MateBook 14 features a 14-inch display screen with 2K screen res and 2160 x 1440 pixels. It offers an aspect ratio of 3:2, and the thin-bezel offers a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. It runs on Intel‘s 10th-generation Core i5 and i7 processors.
The laptop is available in two memory variants, 8GB RAM and 16 GB RAM, and comes with 512GB of PCIe SSD storage. For security, it comes with a fingerprint scanner. For connectivity, Huawei has included 1 x USB 3.0 port, 1 x USB 2.0 port, 1 x HDMI port, 1 x “full function” USB Type-C port, and 1 x audio port.
When the laptop was announced, Huawei had mentioned that it will come with the NVIDIA GeForce MX250 GPU, but now the GPU has been upgraded to MX350. It features a 56Wh battery and supports 65W superfast charge over USB-C.
The amazing thing about the laptop has to be the fact that even though the GPU has been upgraded, it costs the same. The base model with Core i5 and 8GB RAM costs 5,899 yuan while the model with Core i5 SoC and 16GB RAM costs 6,399 yuan. The laptops are yet to go on sale online.
