Huawei introduced its latest mid-range and affordable smartphone, the Huawei Y9 (2018). As reported before, it will be available with a dual camera setup on both panels. It as well bears the 18:9 aspect ratio display.
The smartphone is a derivative of the models Huawei Mate 10 Lite and Honor 9 Lite. The display is a 5.93-inch IPS LCD offering FHD+ resolution and supporting 2160 x 1080 pixels. The HiSilicon Kirin 659 octa-core SoC clocked at 2.36 GHz. The memory department gets the phone equipped with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB ROM, expandable up to 256 GB via microSD.
Now comes the major highlight, the Dualcam support on both panels. The rear camera consists of 13 MP and 2 MP lenses, and the front camera houses 16 MP and 2 MP lenses. Furthermore, the 4,000mAh capacity of the battery will offer a pretty long runtime.
The metal back cover of the Y9 features a fingerprint sensor mounted at the center. The device weighs about 170 grams and bears a thickness of 7.9mm. It is a dual-SIM smartphone running EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo.
There is no confirmed news on pricing so far, but it could be about 200 Euros. Judging by its specs, it should be a worthy buy if you are looking for a mid-range smartphone with advanced features.
