Hyundai has just announced its new generation 2020 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid edition with a solar roof and Active Shift Control transmission technology (ASC). The Hybris Sedan comes with a 112 kW petrol engine and a 38 kW electric motor with a consumption of 4.97 liters per 100 kilometers.
The 2020 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid as revealed sports eye-catching exterior design with LED lighting that has its special pattern. An eco-friendly vehicle with desirable looks featuring a solar roof that will be installed for the first time along with Active Shift Control transmission technology (ASC). The ASC improves acceleration, fuel efficiency, and many more for a better driving experience.
However, not much is yet known about the solar panel on the roof. The company claims that the solar panel will take six hours of charging for an additional range of up to 1,300 kilometers per year. It would charge the battery and at the same time avoid unnecessary battery discharges.
Hyundai has three types of charging system: The first-generation system which consists of a structure of silicon solar cells integrated. The second-generation that is integrated into a panoramic roof and charges the vehicle battery. And lastly, the third-generation system is for the hood and roof of battery electric vehicles though it is currently in the test phase.
The 2020 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid will be the first vehicle to use a solar roof paired to a 38-kilowatt electric motor. The car is imbibed with all the latest technology including the Digital Key and a full array of active driver assists.
