Instagram has rolled out a new feature called ‘Focus’ to enhance the quality of user images. The ‘Focus’ feature has been added next to ‘Superzoom’ under the record button.
The new feature allows users to focus on the subject while blurring out the background. Once a face comes in the shot while clicking a selfie or a picture with the back camera, the new feature helps keep the face in focus while softly blurring out the background. This ensures that the subject stands out in a striking manner.
Focus is available on iPhone SE, 6S, 6S+, 7, 7+, 8, 8+ and X, and select Android devices; as part of Instagram version 39.0 for iOS in the Apple App Store and for Android in Google Play.
Apart from ‘Focus,’ Instagram has also unveiled the ‘@mention’ sticker on iOS. This feature lets users tag their friends in their stories by opening the stickers tray, tapping the @mention sticker, typing in the name of the account they want to mention, and selecting from the options that appear. They can then rotate the sticker any way they like and place it anywhere on the image.
