Intel i9-12900K Processor: Features and Running Score Info Revealed

Intel’s yet-to-be-released i9-12900K processor has just been exposed today by a Twitter user simply identified as @TUM_APISAK on the social media platform.

Taking to his Twitter page, the user posted an image of the unreleased Intel i9-12900K processor, revealing all of its running points. As seen in the image, the processor will come with eight big cores and another eight smaller ones. It also has 24 threads in total and an inbuilt 30MB L3 cache.

Considering the running points, it’s safe to say that the turbo frequency of the entire big core can amount up to 5.08GHz, while the full core turbo frequency of the smaller cores can reach up to 3.6GHz. Also, the processor has a 125W TDP and an L2 cache of 10×1.25MB.   

Earlier IT House reports gave the Geekbench 5 running score of the Intel i9-12900K processor. At that time, a single-core scored 1893 points, and all the cores scored a total of 17,299 points, an obvious improvement over Intel’s present flagship, the i9-11900K.

From all indications, the Intel Core i9-12900K is well poised to be the flagship chip within the 12th Gen Alder Lake Desktop CPU series. The processor sure looks like it has completely blown away its predecessors (the Core i9-11900K & Core i9-10900K) in its inter-thread efficiency.

And quite in the usual manner, the new and upcoming i9-12900K processor has appeared again within the SiSoftware SANDRA database as stumbled upon by TUM_APISAK. This time around though, we get to experience higher clock speeds and much better inter-thread efficiency performance.

According to the software, the processor will have different clock speeds that are likely to be the boost clocks for both the big cores (Golden Cove) and the small cores (Gracemont).
