Seoul-based Kia Motors, after releasing teasers of its upcoming new compact SUV where they showed its interior and exterior sketches, has now revealed the name by which the SUV would be called – Kia Seltos.
Reportedly, the name Seltos has been inspired from Celtos, the son of Hercules, in Greek mythology. ‘Celtos’ has apparently been changed to ‘Seltos’ where the S would stand for sportiness and speed, as per Kia’s official announcement. We might also wonder whether the S in ‘Seltos’ hints at SUV.

For this SUV, Kia has millenials and “youthful, tech-savvy buyers” as it’s target audience, and aims to create something that would be one of its kind in the compact SUV segment of the car industry.
According to the earlier teasers of Kia Seltos, the interior of the car is said to consist of a greenhouse with a 10.25-inch touchscreen display along with adaptive cruise control. The sketches of the exterior demonstrates features similar to that of the Kia Soul, including Kia’s tiger grille and narrow headlamps. It also features a wide, curvy backside that seems to illustrate a crossover lifestyle.
More teasers and reveals are to follow, and it can be expected that the full reveal of the Kia Seltos would out by the end of the month.
