Lenovo’s Legion gaming brand has some enormous success over the past few years. Ever since then the company had been looking for ways to extend their markets, and recently it has come to light that Lenovo will take its Legion gaming brand to smartphone gaming.
Lenovo Legion’s gaming mobile phone will be the first-ever gaming phone manufactured by Lenovo. The company has confirmed that the phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 865 processor.
Lenovo Legion’s biggest competitors in the market will be the likes of Razer, Black Shark, Nubia Red Magic, and ASUS ROG. All of the gaming smartphones mentioned above are top of its line and offer smooth service, and state-of-the-art cooling systems to ensure long hours of uninterrupted gaming. If Lenovo is to compete in such a high market in which the bar for gaming smartphones has already been set high, the company needs to up its game and have its smartphones the similar, if not better, specifications.
Lenovo has officially said that the gaming phone will run on the Snapdragon 865 processor. This processor is the best one available right now globally. The 7mm Snapdragon 865 octa-core chipset includes four ARM Cortex-A77 based Kryo 585 performance cores. Three of the cores have a refresh rate of 2.4GHz, and one of them has a refresh rate of 2.48GHz. The remaining four Kry 585 Cortex-A55 powered cores have a refresh rate of 1.8GHz. Both the CPU and the GPU offer up to 25% better performance than their predecessors.
From a basic 2020 smartphone’s perspective, we can expect the basic features that its contemporary smartphone sport, such as 5G support, Wi-Fi 6, LPDDR5 memory, etc.
But nothing can be said concretely as of yet, and Lenovo has not said anything about its release date, or its price.
