Back in February last year, MediaTek announced the Dimensity 7200 series with a 4nm chipset to expand its range of high-tech offerings. The chips, unlike the previous processors from the brand, are said to amplify smartphone gaming and photography experiences.
To continue improving smartphone experiences, the chip maker has today announced the launch of the Dimensity 7200 Ultra mobile chip, which uses TSMC’s second-generation 4nm process. Just like the Dimensity 7200 series, the new Dimensity 7200 Ultra hopes to intensify gaming and camera experiences.
MediaTek’s Dimensity 7200 Ultra
The new Dimensity 7200 Ultra chip comes with TSMC’s second-generation 4nm process and features two Arm Cortex-A715 cores running at 2.8 GHz and six Cortex-A510 cores making up the eight-core CPU architecture.
The chip also has the Arm Mali-G610 GPU, the APU 650 AI processor, and the 14-bit HDR-ISP Imagiq 765 image processor, which supports up to a 200 MP main camera and 4K HDR video recording.
A MediaTek HyperEngine 5.0 gaming engine, which enables AI-VRS variable rendering, intelligent control, etc., is also included with the chip. Besides, it is said to enable services such as dual card VoNR, 5G dual card dual standby, and 5G dual carrier aggregation.
The precise specifications of the Dimensity 7200 Ultra are still not available on MediaTek’s official website. According to the available data, the chip’s specifications are identical to those of the Dimensity 7200. It is anticipated that it will be created in collaboration with a specific phone maker.
