A lot of buzzes were going around MediaTek and its upcoming new product. The buzz also gave rise to a lot of rumors about the upcoming product not only of this chip-making company but also around the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi, and its sub-brand Redmi.
Finally putting all speculations to rest, MediaTek announced on 18th May its new product, the Tianji 820 processor. The processor uses a 7nm process and it falls somewhere from mid to high range.
The Tianji processor comes with four cores and four small cores, the large core is A76 core with 4 X 2.6Hz, and the small core uses A55 core. The MediaTek officials are claiming that the single-core scored 7% higher than the Qualcomm 765G.
The Tianji 820 processor uses Mali-G57 MC5 GPU and the same Valhall architecture as the Tianji 1000+. A famous Weibo blogger also claimed that the performance score of this top tier chip is proof that the overall score of Redmi 10x prototype Antutu is 400,000. Officials say that the multi-core Reached 37%.
The Tianji 820 processor is built almost the same way that the APU of the Tianji 1000+ is built. It comes with an independent AI processor APU3.0. and the Zurich running score is 300% of the Snapdragon 765G.
As mentioned above the new processor comes with the 4-core architecture, and the inclusion of this new design plays a part in improving some features, such as face recognition, image optimization, and AI video. The gameplay will also get a positive boost. The processor uses the Mali-G57 MC5 GPU the same as the Valhall architecture of the Tianji 1000+, and it also comes with the HyperEngine 2.0 game engine which, in turn, improves the gameplay.
Furthermore, the Tianji 820 sports M70 5G baseband, and comes with support for NSA/ SA, 5G + 5G dual card standby, and additional support of 5G dual-carrier aggregation.
