The Mercedes-Benz EQS was finally launched on December 17, 2021. The new car is offered in four models, and the base price for the car starts at $102,310. The concept of the EQS was created out of the EVA electric drive platform. The car is truly electric, and the lidar and cameras are hidden on the front face grille.
The outside of the car features smart digital headlights that consist of 1.3 million microlenses. The whole wheelbase of the car is 3210mm. The interior of the Mercedes-Benz EQS features a new MBUX Hyperscreen system, which is a large OLED screen that runs across the instrument panel. The total size of the screen exceeds 141 cm.
Moreover, the screen is made of regular curved glass and it hosts the main driving instrument, the central control large screen, and the co-pilot entertainment screen. The system of the smart car is equipped with an 8-core CPU and 24GB of memory. More importantly, it runs on NVIDIA’s Xavier AI chip. The AI can learn the driver’s preferences and likewise suggest options for seat heating, air conditioning, and other functions through push notification.
The Mercedes-Benz EQS car is available in two versions: single motor and dual motor. The 450+ is the single motor version, according to the official listing. The car has a maximum motor power of 329 horsepower for the single motor and runs on a 111.8kWh ternary lithium battery. It offers a standard cruising range of 849 kilometers.
The 580 4MATIC is a dual-motor car with 516 horsepower and a peak torque of 828 Nm. It runs on a 111.8kWh ternary lithium battery and can go from 0 to 96km/h in just 4.1 seconds. This version provides a cruising range of 770 kilometers.
The Mercedes-Benz EQS can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 37 minutes.
