Mercedes-Benz and NVIDIA announced a partnership to bring an NVIDIA AI-powered car to market at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. NVIDIA and Mercedes-Benz have set an ambitious timeline for their goal, and both companies plan to launch this new vehicle within the next 12 months according to Sajjad Khan, Mercedes-Benz President of Digital Vehicle and Mobility.
According to reports, Jen-Hsun Huang, the Founder, and CEO of NVIDIA said that “At this point, it is very clear that AI is going to be the future of computing. This is an endeavor that we started three years ago, that we will put on the road next year- unbelievable.
Mercedes and NVIDIA have been working together as a team with a determination on deep learning and AI. NVIDIA announced additional AI features powered by its in-car computing as its keynote earlier in the week at CES. The features include Co-Pilot – basically a system that combines facial recognition, voice recognition, and gaze tracking and provides more help in order to assist human drivers with safety measures.
The breakthrough called as Deep Learning happened several years ago, and it has completely revolutionized computing from the way you speak to your phone now to the way you take photos and upload to the cloud and how it automatically tags and hosts it for you – Jen-Hsun said.
