According to recent announcements by Xiaomi, the Mi Pay Digital payment solution in India will collaborate with RuPay and ICICI Bank. The company is supposedly starting to accept beta testers for engaging UPI based services in the country which is accessible through MIUI apps like SMS, contacts etc.
Mi Pay Digital will provide major credit and debit card support which is still not been attained by Google Pay or the WhatsApp Ppayments. Users can transfer money through UPI and make the possible payments toward services like mobile phone bills, DTH recharges, gas electricity and other services. The users can also collect or request money from contacts and other UPI users to pay for the services that are accepted by the UPI based payments.
The Mi Pay is also capable of linking or not linking the bank account, which will modify the UPI PIN by creating persona QR codes to receive the payments and scan codes with the help of Bharat QR Codes.
Xiaomi has also managed to receive the clearance from the National Payments Corporation of India(NPCI) which will enable the launch to a wider user base in the coming weeks. The Chinese company has partnered with PayU payment gateway services and ICICI bank for the launch of Mi Pay.
The company has also successfully integrated Mi Pay within the MIUI interface, making it easier for users to utilize the payment solution. They can sync Contacts, SMS, Scanner and the Vault apps on their phone. The data will also be saved effectively and stored within the India-based CLOUD infrastructure with strong security in a high encrypted format.
Xiaomi Mi Pay will be available through the beta version for any users using the Xiaomi phone gearing on the MIUI Beta ROM. The users can also sign up for the service through the website of Mi Pay before December 31, to sustain the eligibility criteria.
