According to the latest announcement, Microsoft is prepping to automatically upgrade all Windows 10 users to the current version 22H2 release. The same will start happening in June 2023. All the previous versions of Windows, even 21H2, will no longer be supported by Microsoft starting from June 13, 2023. Windows 10 version 22H2 is the last version of Windows 1-.
Microsoft has said that it will support the version until October 2025. This is the main reason behind the end of support for older versions of Windows 10. The same was officially announced through a poster on Microsoft Learn.
All the users currently working with Windows 10 version 21H2 are potentially at risk related to security and vulnerabilities as Microsoft will not provide updates or patches for these versions on an official basis. As of now, the brand has not announced the exact date of the force update. However, expectations are that it will start on June 13, 2023.
The Windows 10 version 22H2 is not that big of an update. If you have a stable internet connection, the update will only take a minute or two to install on your system. The two are not different in terms of features, which means that after upgrading your system, you won’t even be able to spot the difference.
Apart from that, Microsoft is primarily focusing on Windows 11 and above. With the revamps of Binge and integrating AI with it, Microsoft has already sent a strong message that the company is all set to take on other tycoons like Google, Open AI and others in the near future.
The brand is also working on delivering new features for Windows 11 customers pretty soon. Another major highlight is that Microsoft will keep rolling out regular updates for the Windows 11 operating system under the continuous innovation program.
