Moto E6 Plus to be powered by MediaTek Helio P22 chip, 2GB RAM: Geekbench

Recently, Motorola launched the Android One Motorola One Vision. Few weeks after the launch, Motorola unveiled its Z series Moto Z4 mid-range Android smartphone in North America. But as of now, it is yet to pull out its next-generation E series smartphones. An online information leak that came up in April had anticipated that the E6 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 32-bit processor. And now, the Moto E6 Plus has been spotted on the Geekbench, the benchmark database platform, revealing a MediaTek Helio P22 chipset inside.

As per the Motorola Moto E6 Plus listing on Geekbench, the upcoming entry-level Android smartphone will be powered by a 12nm MediaTek Helio P22 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0 GHz. The Moto E6 Plus is based on TSMC’s 12nm process, and the Helio P22 uses eight ARM Cortex-A53 cores and an IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU.

Furthermore, the Moto E6 Plus is touted to be equipped with inbuilt 2GB of RAM and will operate on the Android 9.0 Pie operating system. One glance at the benchmarking scores claims that the Moto E6 Plus scored 829 points in the single-core test and 3,687 points in the multi-core test.

On the other hand, the Moto E6 is estimated to run on a 28nm Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor with an Adreno 505 GPU. Not only will this, at the back side, but the Motorola smartphone will also have a 13MP S5K3L6 sensor with an f/2.0 aperture. And the smartphone is well-configured for selfies, with its handset sporting a 5MP sensor on the front with the same f/2.0 aperture. The smartphone is reported to be available with a 5.45-inch sized display panel featuring 720 x 1440 HD+ resolutions.

It features a more modern chipset, and the Moto E6 Plus is supposed to be more advanced and impressive than the standard E6 in some other aspects as well. Regardless of the fact of leaked information about the smartphone and its features, which bring up the question of the authenticity of the information, what is factually true is that the standard Moto E6 was seen at the FCC last month. So the E6 series phones might go official sometime in the near future in all probability. The Motorola fans should stay tuned for more updates and keep a tab on all relevant information as and when they surface.
