A few weeks ago, Twitter launched Spaces which is a lot like Clubhouse, but to give significant competition to the app. Before that Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s tweet about the app, Clubhouse made the stocks for the same to skyrocket; not only that, the download numbers moved beyond over 8M after just a single tweet. Twitter’s Spaces is designed to bring a similar experience and interface to its users. Since Spaces was made available to Android users, the tech company has been relentless in working out the kinks and improving the new features. Very recently, Spaces received a dedicated button on Android.
Indeed, the new updates and features have been added rather rapidly, but that does not seem to be the end of it.
Recently, the reverse engineer, Jane M Wong, tweeted that Twitter is working on adding yet new features again to Spaces.
The latest one is about giving the ability to the host to mute all the users engaged in a Spaces session. Twitter will be employing a single “Mute Speakers” button for this purpose; although the idea behind this Mute Speakers button is not clear yet. It might help in eliminating unwanted noise if the host feels like that is the case, but any further idea behind this is yet to be announced on Twitter’s behalf. Just like the host will have the option to mute all speakers using the single button, if the host decides to unmute a participant, they will have to unmute all the participants at the same time, that is to say, there is no option for unmuting each user individually.
Twitter Mute Speakers button is still in its developmental phase, and so, it would not be available to all users of Twitter Spaces. Likewise, it will take some time before it can be made available as a feature to all users.
