Netflix always offers fabulous binge experience of your favorite dramas and movie series from all over the world. It seems like Netflix’s Android app has added something to level up your experience with Netflix. Multiple tweets have been found where users claimed that Netflix have added variable playback speed option in its new test version.
The news is already trending on Twitter. It appears true that Netflix is rolling out the test version of the variable playback speed feature on Netflix Android apps through a server-side update for some select users. However, it was not clarified whether Netflix plans to release the update over other platforms officially or not.
Just like Youtube and other video surfing apps, Netflix has also included the variable playback speed feature. This feature allows the users to control the playback speed of their videos on their Netflix for Android app. After choosing the ‘Speed‘ option a window pops up and users can easily choose their preferable playing speed from there. You can choose the speed from normal (1x) to 0.75x or 0.5x or move it even faster to 1.25x or 1.5x. It’s up to you now how you want to use it.
Netflix did not have this particular feature before. This newly added variable playback speed feature certainly makes Netflix app more user-friendly because now they can cover their favorite drama seasons in the shortest time possible.
As it was reported, it seems like Netflix has been testing it on selected Android devices for a week now. It’s still on beta version and the video streaming app did not even officially confirm any official update. In November last year, Netflix added up a new feature in iOS. This allows iOS users to move their videos 10 seconds backward or forward as they like it. With this, we hope that Net flix will soon come with the variable playback speed update for iOS, web and Android T. We will make sure to get you updated once we get further news on this topic.
