Netflix is testing its long-term subscription plans in India. This testing is first done in India. According to reports, Netflix has tested annual, half-yearly and quarterly plans.

They can be offered with discounts of up to 50 percent. This means that if users take long-term plans for Netflix, then they will be able to take mobile, basic, standard or premium plans at a discount. This testing is currently being conducted to select users only.

Netflix is testing these plans: The first of the three plans that the company is testing is three months. It costs Rs 1,919. Its regular premium subscription is Rs 2,397. While the second is a 6-month plan, which is being tested for Rs 3,359 with a discount of up to 30 percent. Its regular price is Rs 4,794.

In addition to this, there is a third 12-month plan which is being tested for Rs 4,799 with a discount of 50 percent. Its regular price is Rs 799 per month i.e. Rs 9,588 per year.

Netflix entered the Indian market in January 2016. At that time the company introduced basic, standard and premium plans. Recently the company even launched the Rs 199 affordable plan which was introduced specifically for mobile users.

Netflix is competing with companies like Amazon Prime Video, Hotstar and ZEE5 which are already making annual plans available in India. In such a situation, if Netflix offers an annual plan at a discounted price, then the chance of its users base growing exponentially can get better.

At the moment, it is not clear when the company will officially release these plans. According to Netflix, testing of the plan does not mean that it will be launched. That is, if the company feels that users are not interested in it, then it can be canceled after the testing phase.
