HMD Global has announced two feature phones. The Nokia 220 (2019) and the Nokia 105 (2019) are cheap mobile phones with 4G and 2G connectivity. However, one must remember that installation or downloading apps will not be possible as these devices are not smartphones or they don’t run on the Android OS. Hence, app installation is not possible.
Both models are equipped with physical keys and a color screen. The main difference between the two devices; with the Nokia 105 it is primarily about calling and texting, while with the Nokia 220 you can also use the internet and even take pictures.
Nokia 105 (2019 model)
In the earlier days, when we used the cell phones predominantly to make calls, the Nokia 105 was designed precisely to serve the requirements. The Nokia has brought an update to the model which was originally introduced in 2017. The design of the 2019 model is very similar to the old model, yet a number of important changes have been made.
Although only 4MB of storage memory is built-in, the new Nokia mobile phone offers space for no less than 2,000 contacts. You can also save another 500 text messages. The device is also equipped with dual sim functionality.
The 800mAh removable battery guarantees a day-long battery life. The device has a standby time of more than 25 days and a talk time of no less than 14 hours. Charging is via the MicroUSB connection.
Are you ready for some relaxation? That is also possible with the Nokia 105 (2019), there is an FM radio built-in, there are also six Gameloft games built-in, think of the famous game Tetris, Sky Gift, Airstrike, Nitro Racing, Ninja Up! and Danger Dash. The color screen has a size of 1.77-inch.
Taking photos is not possible on this mobile phone. However, there is a 3.5 mm connection available to connect headphones. There is also an LED flashlight built-in, so you always have some extra lighting to hand.
The housing is made of polycarbonate, which makes the device feel sturdy and robust. The special color ensures that scratches are reduced, according to the manufacturer. This Nokia phone will be available from August in the colors blue, pink and black. Consumers can buy the mobile phone for a very reasonable price of € 13.
Nokia 220 4G (2019 model)
The HMD Global has come up with a new 4G variant for the Nokia 220 model that was originally introduced in 2014. You can make clear HD video calls via 4G LTE, this classic phone also has a web browser to surf the internet with the updated 2019 model.
The Nokia 220 4G is equipped with a 2.4-inch color display with a QQVGA resolution. 24MB storage memory is built-in and the phone book has space for 500 contacts. The phone also has an extra powerful battery with which you should be able to achieve a standby time of 27 days and a talk time of more than 6 hours. The 1200 mAh battery is interchangeable and charging takes place via the included MicroUSB charger.
This Nokia mobile phone is also equipped with various classic games, including Snake and other try-and-buy games such as Tetris, Sky Gift, and Nitro Racing.
In addition, the device is equipped with a digital camera, although the quality undoubtedly leaves something to be desired, it is, of course, nice that you can occasionally take a photo. This is a 0.3-megapixel camera. Finally, there is an FM radio, an MP3 player and a 3.5 mm connection.
This Nokia phone will go on sale in Europe in mid-August and will be available in the colors black and blue (light blue/gray color). You can buy the Nokia 220 4G for a price of € 39.
