HMD Global has officially launched the Nokia X6 in China which comes with a 19:9 aspect ratio and a display notch. The company hasn’t shared details on a global release, or at least a release in any other specific market than China.
Nokia X6 is the first smartphone from the Finnish phone maker to feature the iPhone-like notch on the front. Bearing a glass body, it sports a 5.8-inch FHD+ display that supports 2280 x 1080 pixels. It is powered by Snapdragon 636 and has a non-removable battery with a 3060mAh capacity.
The smartphone runs Android 8.1 Oreo. It features the Do Not Disturb mode for gaming and is equipped with Quick Charge 3.0, which provides a 50% charge in a half-hour. There is also a Face Unlock feature and a fingerprint reader at the rear panel.
For the camera, the rear dual setup bears 16 MP (RGB primary sensor, f2.0 aperture) and 5 MP (secondary monochrome sensor, f2.2 aperture) lenses. The front camera has a 16 MP sensor with an f2.0 aperture and 1.0um pixel size.
The camera features include AI for improved photography like optimized color, portrait lighting, field effects, and face recognition. The Bothie feature allows users to use both the front and rear cameras simultaneously.
Nokia X6 has its display covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Among connectivity options, the device offers support for 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, GPS + GLONASS, and USB Type-C.
The phone has three variants in terms of RAM+ROM combo: 4GB+32GB priced at 1299 Yuan or $204, 4GB+64GB costing 1,499 Yuan or $236, and 6GB+64GB at 1,699 Yuan or $266. Sales start on May 21 in China. A microSD card slot allows for 256GB of expandable memory. The device comes in three color variants: Blue, Black, and Silver.
