After Sony, LG, and Samsung, OnePlus is going to implement Nougat, the latest version of Android, into its product OnePlus 3. The company just now shared some details about the implementation and launch of the latest version of Android on OnePlus 3.
Engadget provided some information regarding the upcoming Nougat updates for the OnePlus 3 as it recently spoke to Mr. Brian Yoon, the Head of the Software Department at OnePlus. He commented,
Nougat Beta community build will be rolled out later this month, with an OTA update rolling out to all OnePlus 3 devices by the end of the year.
OnePlus 2 owners will also be going to experience this update, according to Mr. Yoon. He said that last year’s phone would also be updated to Nougat. Although, he didn’t specify any timeframe by which the smartphone will receive the updates.
Another very interesting thing is that OnePlus merged its OxygenOS team with the HydrogenOS division earlier this year. The company says this step is taken to increase efficiency and speed up the software updates.
Furthermore, the company also mentioned its detailed beta program in a blog post giving details about Android development in the company and the different branches like the internal build, community build, and stable build.
After the major Marshmallow update by OnePlus, which was pushed in October, its next big update is that it will roll out its new Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 based Oxygen OS 3.1.4 to OnePlus X users in the coming days. Through this new update, its system stability and Google Security Patch are going to be improved. According to a source, this will come after the official confirmation that the OnePlus 3T will be launched with Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 on November 15, 2016.
