After taking the smartphone market by storm, the tech giant OnePlus is planning on launching a new smartwatch. OnePlus has been extremely successful when it comes to the tech market, in that its smartphones are regarded highly both by its users and the critics.

Most tech companies that started their journeys with smartphones have already ventured into other tech areas. It was only a matter of time before OnePlus too started to expand its boundaries.

CEO of OnePlus has already confirmed that the company will launch its first smartwatch in 2021. The upcoming smartwatch was recently spotted on the IMDA (Infocomm Media Development Authority) website here in India. The website lists the name of the company.

The smartwatch bears the model number W301GB. The website reveals that the smartwatch will come sporting a circular dial. Additionally, the OnePlus Watch’s design has been confirmed by DPMA in Germany that revealed that the OnePlus smartwatch would feature leather bands.

As mentioned before, it has been confirmed that the smartwatch will come with a circular dial; around the dials, there will be buttons to control the watch. The dial’s right side comes with two buttons, and at the back of the dial, there is heart rate sensor charging pins.

A website mentions that the smartwatch is likely to have a silicone strap and that the design of the strap is similar to that of the OnePlus band and other fitness bands.

Another patent reveals that the smartwatch will come with a leather strap with a clasp-type lock. The strap is removable. The straps could be interchanged with other straps of smartwatches as well.

However, the smartwatch specifications have not yet been revealed, and it is not clear if it will run on WearOS. The smartwatch is likely to launch along with the OnePlus 9 series smartphones in March.
