Undoubtedly, smartphone technologies have evolved over the last decade drastically. Brands are competing among themselves to come up with new innovative ideas for a long time. In recent times, different smartphone companies are racing to introduce under-display camera in the smartphones.
Tipster Digital Chat Station’s information shows that Oppo is also developing a portless smartphone with an under-display camera.
Vivo introduced the concept of under-display camera smartphones with their APEX 2019. Xiaomi also showed off their concept of the under-display camera with their unnamed quad-curved waterfall display prototype. Now, Oppo has joined the race too.
According to the tips and bits of information, this mysterious device from Oppo will have a “special structural design”. It will also feature pressure-sensitive buttons on its side, an under-display front camera, and also a hidden rear camera setup, as per Digital Chat Station’s report.
This Oppo device may feature the electrochromic technology that OnePlus Concept One smartphone has. However, it can also come up with both wireless and wired charging as it will have a USB interface that will be hidden by a special structural design.
In addition to these, reports also state that the mysterious OPPO smartphone’s rear cameras will be tucked under the electrochromic glass. This same technology was used for the 2020 OnePlus Concept One phone. The smartphone will also allegedly have an under-display fingerprint scanner and an under-display selfie camera.
Tipster also shared that currently Oppo has been working on two foldable smartphones. The first model has an 8-inch display with an inward folding design and the other one has a 7-inch screen with an in-folding design. However, there is no information available of both of the phone’s availability in the market.
Being a concept phone, Oppo’s new mysterious portless smartphone also has no speculative release date. Oppo is yet to make any official announcement regarding the matter. It is also uncertain if the concept phone will go into production one day. But let’s hope for the best and wait for the tech giant to address the news.
