Realme will be coming out with its very first smartphone that will be powered by the Snapdragon 888. The new smartphone will come out in the first quarter of 2021. The new smartphone deemed Koi will be a part of a new smartphone series that will be launched in the Chinese market. This news has been confirmed by Realme China President.
Koi is the name of an ornamented domesticated fish that is mainly known for its color and beauty. Some religious faith is also attached to having koi fish in a pond. It is thought to bring luck in Chinese and Japanese cultures.
The decision to name the smartphone Koi could point to the fact that the smartphone perhaps will come with an attractive design with a beautiful orange-ish color scheme. It could also mean that the smartphone may come in vibrant colors. The vibrant colors immediately bring to mind the target audience.
Is Realme aiming for a rather younger crowd with the new attractive smartphones?
Realme has created an official profile on the Chinese website Weibo. The company will utilize the new profile to share news about the new product and share more information on the Snapdragon 888.
Recent reports claim that the Realme Koi phone comes with the code name Race and bears the model number RMX2022. The handset is likely to come with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. It will come preloaded with Realme UI 2.0 based Android 11 OS.
Although there is no news on the design of the smartphone, there had been rumors that the glass on the rear of the smartphone will come with curved edges. A quad-camera setup housed inside a round-shaped camera module along with an elongated LED flash unit is available on the phone’s back. The smartphone could also come with an in-display fingerprint reader. Realme Koi phone could be the brand’s first phone with 125W Ultra DART fast charging technology.
The price and more details about the smartphones are yet to be announced.
