The launch of the Note 7 and Note 7 Pro comes after weeks of teasing from the company about the devices. The company launched the device in the Chinese market about a month ago, so we know what to expect when it comes to the device’s design and specifications.
The launch event took place in Delhi today as per the scheduled time. The event started with Manu Kumar Jain (the head of Xiaomi India) taking the stage where he talked about the company and the love it got from its users and also about smartphone shipments findings by IDC.
Now, let’s jump to the launch. As speculated, the company has launched Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro. Anuj Sharma took the stage to boast about Redmi Note 7 Pro. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro comes with a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor, Aura design, and 1.95mm narrow bezels. 2.5D curved glass on both sides of the device with Snapdragon 675.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro is the first smartphone in the Redmi series to come with USB Type-C support while it sports a 6.3-inch (2340 ×1080 pixels) Full HD+ 19:5:9 LTPS in-cell display. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro comes with Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 675 processor, which is clocked at 2.0GHz and comes coupled with Adreno 612 GPU for graphics while it will be available in classic Space Black, Nebula Red, and Neptune Blue color options.
There is also the Super Pixel technology that combines 4 pixels to make one large 1.6μm for crisp, clear, detailed images even in darker conditions, while the smartphone also supports EIS and 4K video recording at 30 fps. At the front, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro comes with a 13-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture, autofocus, AI beauty, Studio Lighting, AI portrait 2.0, AI face unlocking, and more.
The Redmi Note 7 also get some of the premium camera features of the Redmi Note 7 Pro such as Auro design, Qualcomm Quick Charge 4, 1.95mm narrow bezels, LTPS in-cell display, USB Type-C support, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on both sides while it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor. Xiaomi has also improved the audio quality on the Redmi Note 7 and Note 7 Pro devices. He claims that the devices now offer up to 2.5x times more audio when compared to previous Redmi Note devices.
The handset features a 6.3-inch full-HD+ (2340×1080 pixels) LTPS display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 450 nits brightness, 84 percent NTSC color gamut, Corning Gorilla Glass 5, and 2.5D curved glass protection. It runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core SoC paired with 3GB, 4GB, and 6GB RAM options along with 32GB and 64GB storage options.
Redmi Note 7 Pro comes in two storage and RAM variants, the one with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal, priced at Rs 9,999, and the other with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, priced at Rs 11,999. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 price in India starts at Rs. 13,999 for the 4GB RAM / 64GB storage version while the 6GB RAM / 128GB storage option of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro is priced at Rs. 16,999.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 will be going on sale starting from March 6, 2019, at 12 noon through Flipkart, Mi.com and Mi Homes while the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro sale is beginning on March 13 at 12 noon.
