Dusk Golem has released a few of the details about the next part in the Resident Evil franchise. According to the source, Resident Evil 8 was supposed to be Resident Evil Revelations 3. But since the original Resident Evil 8 game is a few years away from being released, the franchise owner Capcom has decided to title Revelations 3 to Resident Evil 8.
Capcom will release Resident Evil 8 in 2021, the date got invariably pushed back due to the coronavirus breakout and the subsequent lockdown. The game originally was set to release at E3 2020 but it is not possible to do that anymore.
Resident Evil 8 will be one of those cross-gen games, suitable for both current and next-gen platforms. The game will retain the original first-person perspective, and the details about the game that leaked earlier will be present. However, the game developers are constantly tweaking the game and making it better. So new elements might be present in the final form of the game.
Regarding this issue, Dusk Golem has tweeted, “The game has been going through some huge changes to make it more like a “mainline” title, big changes to the story, characters, etc. So specifically what you’ve heard may not be fully true in the final, but a number of elements remain. So as I’ve said, it’s a cross-gen game.”
However, this version of the game will come packed with a few supernatural elements and themes such as hallucinations, occultism, insanity and much more.
Dusk Golem has further revealed that the game will feature three stalkers, first of which was present in the Ambassador demo people played in February 2020. The stalker is actually a witch that takes the form of thousands of insects when being shot at.
