Angry Birds fans will soon be able to spread their wings in virtual reality and fight pigs thanks to Rovio. The studio will launch in 2019 ‘Angry Birds VR: Isle of Pigs’, a virtual reality version of its popular game.
For the adaptation of the video game, Rovio joined Resolution Games, a Swedish studio that specializes in making VR titles for all audiences. ‘Angry Birds: Isle of Pigs’ will be available on all major virtual reality platforms on the market, but no specific one was mentioned. We can probably expect it to be available for Oculus Rift, Live, Google DayDream and PS VR.

It is not the first time that the Angry Birds saga reaches other platforms that are not smartphones. A couple of months ago, Resolution Games showed the trailer of a ‘first person sling’ of Angry Birds, is the first attempt of Angry Birds VR.
We could not be more excited to partner with Rovio to take his beloved franchise to virtual reality. Angry Birds lends itself perfectly to virtual reality, where players can experience the already very desirable mechanisms of the franchise and the game play in a more tangible way. – Resolution Games
It is not yet known how advanced the project is but Rovio and Resolution Games are expected to show a trailer in a short time.
