Samsung’s proprietary AI assistant Bixby received an update for the wearable Samsung Active 2 Galaxy watch. Samsung had also recently announced that the ECG feature would be available to the Active 2 Galaxy watch.
The users in US have reported that they could download the ECG feature and install it in their Samsung Health App on their smartwatches. But they have been facing problems while trying to install the new Bixby update.
The ECG feature has a certain limitation for now. Samsung has limited the use of this feature only to Active 2 users who pair it with a Samsung Galaxy phone running Android 7 or above. So it would not work on a non-Samsung phone even if it runs the latest Android.
Returning to the Bixby update, users complained that when they tried to install the update, the “install” option reappeared, and then the screen would revert to the home screen.
Users have tried to implement workarounds like reducing space and rebooting their watch without any success. Some even tried a complete reset but it didn’t seem to resolve the issue. On reaching out to Samsung support they were directed to send over their watches for a check-up.
It doesn’t seem to be a hardware issue as multiple users claimed that they were able to download and install other updates successfully. Samsung needs to sort this out so that Bixby can run smoothly on its Active 2 Galaxy watch.
