Samsung announced back in 2018 that it would launch new features on its Galaxy A smartphones. So far, Samsung has launched the Galaxy A9, the world’s first phone with four rear cameras, as well as the Galaxy A8s, which features a punch-hole camera cutout. This time it announces to launch Galaxy A series, some new budget-friendly devices in India.
This comes as a surprise because the company had just launched the Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20 in India last month. It appears that Samsung wants to compete with the likes of ASUS and Chinese companies like Xiaomi, which have a strong foothold in the mid-range market.
As per the listing, it hints that the device could house Exynos 7885 chipset. The same 14nm octa-core chipset is also said to power Galaxy A20 and Galaxy A30.
The new Samsung Galaxy A-Series is said to be developed to take on a range of affordable devices from rival companies. It will ship with the latest Android Pie OS, as per the listing. The A-series devices run OneUI based on Android 9.0 Pie, with 2GB of RAM for the Galaxy A10, 3GB for the Galaxy A20, and 4GB for the Galaxy A30.
The Galaxy A10 price in India is rumored to start at Rs. 8490. The budget-friendly Galaxy A series phones are expected be launched at the end of Q1, or early Q2.
