Samsung is reportedly planning the launch of another Galaxy smartphone with an “Infinity Display” in India and is expected to hit the market next week. This could be regarded as Samsung’s strategy to stay relevant in the Indian market, as Xiaomi’s budget phones, like Xiaomi Redmi 5, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, continue to eat up major shares in the Indian market.

As revealed to IANS, sources speculate that Samsung is going to release its second online-exclusive smartphone in the country in just two months. The first Infinity Display smartphone by Samsung released was Galaxy On6, only sold at online stores. This launch was previously reported on by IANS, lending more credibility to the current reporting.

The only information we have about the upcoming device is that it will feature a Super AMOLED display with the Infinity Display design language, and will possibly come with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. From what little we know about the new Samsung Galaxy Infinity Display smartphone is it can be assumed that the device is going to be the Samsung Galaxy On6+, which we had been reported about earlier.

Samsung’s business in India is well and thriving when it comes to the mid-range phones, having sold over 2,000,000 of its Samsung Galaxy J8 and Samsung Galaxy J6 handsets, that was only recently launched, with an average of over 50,000 units of each per day. Despite the formidable Chinese competitors, what helps Samsung maintain a strong hold over India, are its widespread offline sales, brand discoverability in remote parts, and marketing, which is often seen to cater to the needs of its Indian users. Yet, its online presence faces tough competition.
