Samsung is going to officially launch its new brand Onyx for cinema LED display screens. The launch will be coming today at the CinemaCon 2018 in Caesars Palace, Las Vegas. From now onwards, every venue featuring the Onyx screen will operate bearing the name ‘Samsung Onyx Theatre.’
The brand aims to display cinema content with deep and realistic black colors. The brighter and detail-rich content comes from the combination of infinite contrast ratio and specialized low-tone grayscale settings.
The screen will be available in a variety between 5 and 10.3 meters or between 16.4 and 33.8 ft. in width. It will go with any venue configuration without compromising visual quality, technical performance, and reliability. In fact, its performance scales surpass even that of the traditional projector-based operations.
Samsung Onyx is also the first DCI (Digital Cinema Initiatives)-certified theater display worldwide. It translates advanced LED and HDR picture quality to the content for a lifelike big screen. Thanks to Harman International, it brings a multi-sensory viewing environment for the CinemaCon attendees and features state-of-the-art surround sound.
Samsung is in collaboration with global cinema operators and cinema content developers in order to revolutionize the cinema experience for the audience. At the Caesars Palace, the brand will also highlight its partnerships with production equipment businesses. These moves altogether ensure the tech leader is an established cinema presentation for the present and future generations. Advancements are on a high for the movie-goers!
