Samsung Starts Rolling Out One UI 2.1 Update for Galaxy S9

Samsung starts sending One UI 2.1 OTA updates for the Galaxy S9 and S9+ in the United States for all carriers including Sprint, AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and unlocked variants.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 and the S9+ started receiving the One UI 2.1 update back in June. At that time, this new software was sent to unlocked units. After that, carriers like T-Mobile and Verizon also started rolling out the One UI 2.1 for the models.

Usually, carrier-branded devices are likely to receive software updates a little later than the unlocked ones. Thus, the update was not available for a few other carriers. But now, users with AT&T, Boost Mobile, and Sprint-branded devices are getting the update, because the carriers are rolling out the One UI 2.1 update for the Galaxy S9 and S9+.

The build number for the new update is ETG3 and it also comes with the July security patch. Users have started reporting the arrival of the new software on social platforms such as Reddit.

The importance of the One UI 2.1 update for the Galaxy S9 users lies in the fact that it includes features from the Galaxy S20 series. As the Galaxy S9 series will never be updated to Android 11, this is the best thing the users can get.
