Samsung’s foldable smartphone Galaxy X is long-awaited now, and the latest update is that it may have a technology similar to Apple 3D Touch or Huawei’s Force Touch. In fact, the South Korean tech giant is considering bringing aboard certain technologies that are yet to be used in any of its products.
Samsung provided pressure-sensitive technology in its Galaxy S8 and S8+ but is positioned around the ‘virtual’ home button. In 2017, the company filed for a patent that defines another technology like that of Apple and Huawei. It further said that the new tech would be implemented for a flexible display.
Putting pressure-sensitive sensors for a flat display is no cup of tea, making the same tech more difficult to put with a bendable screen. In the context, not just the Samsung Galaxy X but also the Galaxy S9 and S9+ (that are to be launched soon) are likely to have a pressure-sensitive display.
While it is clear what we can expect regarding Samsung’s upcoming innovations via its smartphones, we do want to keep a tab on things to present the next update for you. In the meantime, why don’t you put your innovative hat on and share with us in comments what kind of technology you want to see Samsung coming up on its next phones!
