We are pretty convinced that artificial intelligence will eventually be able to do pretty much anything, and perhaps, Snapchat is about to show you just how powerful machine learning can be. Snapchat is adding a new Lens called Time Machine, which will let users switch between a younger and older version of themselves.
Called Time Machine, the lens allows Snapchat users to change the appearance of their age by dragging a slider across the screen. Snapchatters can now go from being young to old in a few seconds by sliding on the lens screen.
To use the new feature all you need to do is move a slider from left to right to see your face age on a timeline. Then changing the proportions of your face and removing any facial hair, while moving right you can add on the years, including the hair recedes going gray, eyes narrowing, and skin lines grow.
The Time Machine lens being rolled out to Snapchat users today shows its prowess as an augmented reality platform. Ahead of its release today, Snapchat offered early access to the lens. Honestly, I am amazed at the accuracy possible with this new lens.
This app supports in Galaxy S10, S10+, S9, S9+, Galaxy A70, Huawei P20 Pro, Huawei Y7, Huawei Y9, Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, OnePlus 6T and Pixel 3a. Outside of these devices, the Lens will support photo “post-capture” functionality, meaning you will have to take a photo and then apply the Lens, rather than use it in real-time.
