Sony has been filing for new patents for its new and much-awaited PlayStation 5. The recent patents have left its fan scratching their heads mainly for the features that are to be added to the new PS 5.
As confusing as some of its patents might seem, the latest patent filed by the company is pretty straightforward and addresses one of the main concerns raised by the netizens. Since Sony has promised a wireless console for the PS 5, the first issue that the fans raised was that of the battery. What if the battery completely drains out in the middle of gameplay?
It looks like the latest patent has come as a competent answer to that legitimate issue. This latest patent filed by Sony shows that in the case of battery draining out in the console for the PlayStation 5, the users will get the option to switch to the second handle immediately and seamlessly. In this case, finding a second handle could be an added headache for a lot of players.
The latest patent is called “low battery switching”. Apparently this new patent will become a feature of the PS5 DualSense handle. This is not to say, that the adjustment would not be an issue for a lot of users; however, it does not take away anything from the fact that the new “low battery switching” is still a significant improvement for the player’s gaming experience.
We should keep in mind this will ensure, to the best of Sony’s abilities, that the game will not be interrupted due to a low battery console. According to the current information available on PS5, the battery life of the Sony PlayStation 5 DualSense controller will be 3 to 4 hours longer than the previous PlayStation 4 DualShock controller. Sony will also sell the official DualSense charging station at the beginning of the listing.
