The 3.5 mm earphone jacks are slowly inching their way out and the Type-C headphones seem to be in vogue these days. This is mainly due to many companies’ craze to make space for more important electronic components. As a result, many flagship mobile phones have done away with the 3.5 mm earphones jacks altogether. Sony too is following in the same path.

On July 18, 2019, Sony STH50C headset launches officially. This is a wired headphone and uses the Type-C connector. It also supports Hi-Res audio music.

Sony STH50C Type C Headset

Sony STH50C headphones are based on SBH90C Bluetooth. As mentioned earlier, it uses the Type-C connector which means that this headphone would connect directly to any smartphone equipped with the Type-C plug terminal. The headphone features a 9.7 mm moving coil unit and low-frequency rhythm control vents.

The coil unit helps the headphone to give better performance, and the vents, situated on the sides of the headphones, enables sharp bass reproduction and accurate rhythm reproduction. Sony STH50C headset also supports remote control. Users can operate songs, volumes, incoming call, and voice search with the remote control.

It is worth mentioning that the voice search can be used either with Google application or with Siri. The Sony STH50C headphones are wired which means there will be no delay in playing games, listening to music, or watching movies. The high-resolution reproduction of 192kHz/24-bit correspondence can suppress the deterioration of sound quality.

The built-in D/A converter helps in using the headphones without worrying about any shift in the sound quality. In terms of material, Sony has combined two types of silicone so that the headphones give a comfortable fit and a high seal. Sony Mobile Communications will release the STH50C stereo headset on August 3, and it is priced at 7,000 yen. It is so far only available in black color.
