In a bid to listen to players’ feedback and request to improve their experience, Sony is pleased to announce today that it has rolled out a new PS5 software beta with updates that enable users to become friends with their friends on PS5 and give them a better sense of being a person on PS5.
According to the gaming giant, the new PS5 system software beta includes 1440p support, game lists, and additional updates to enhance players’ gaming experiences and make connecting with friends easier on PS5.
The new PS5 system software beta comes with new gameplay and personalization options 1440p HDMI video output. Here, players will be able to choose an additional visual setting on their compatible PC monitors and TVs. According to the firm, once a player’s device supports a 1440p, one can experience native 1440p output on their display.
While if it is a higher native resolution like 4K, then players may benefit from improved anti-aliasing through supersampling down to 1440p output. And likewise, players can check if their HDMI device is compatible by selecting “Test 1440p Output” under the “Screen and Video” options within system settings.
Given the update, players can now create game lists in the game library, which makes organizing their games easier. To do this, players will first navigate to their collection tab and click Create Gamelist. Then, choose games to include and name them. Here, players can have up to 15 gamelists with 100 games each.
Additionally, players can now listen to and compare 3D and stereo audio on the same screen before selecting their preferred setting, as well as easy access to in-progress activities. Here a new frequent display has been added at the top of the game hub to make it simple, quick, and possible to resume in-progress activities.
Other new social features are a request share screen with members by going to the voice chat card and selecting the party member, joinable game notification, viewing new friends’ profiles after accepting requests, and sending stickers and voice messages to one’s groups via the game base card.
