The Star Wars franchise started its journey almost 40 years ago and made a home in the hearts of the fans with its storyline, action-packed scenes and the emotions that bind it all together. The journey which started with Episode IV- A New Hope is finally coming to an end.
Star Wars franchise dropped the trailer for the end chapter, The Rise of Skywalker on 21st October. From the trailer, we can assure everyone it is going to be an emotional rollercoaster, from Rey’s union with Princess Leia, the ultimate showdown between Rey and Kylo Ren to C-3PO bidding an emotional goodbye to his friends.
The comments from fans are flooding YouTube. Some believe that this may not be the last chapter, and Lucas just may come up with a new story to keep this franchise alive. The other half are worried about how this is going to end. A franchise that had been in the mainstream market for over 40 years deserves a proper see off.
Hollywood has a reputation of its own when it comes down to wrapping up something, be it a TV series or a movie. Hopefully, the writers will do justice to the legacy of Star Wars and come up with a perfect ending which inevitably will serve as a catharsis to its fans.
Director J.J. Abrams has assured the fans that the final battle between the Resistance and the First Order will be everything that the fans have imagined and that they have given Star Wars a meaningful end. “We’re not screwing around,” is what Abrams mentioned.
After the events of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Kylo, and Rey are preparing to face off in a battle against one another for the universe’s future. Palpatine makes a comeback in this chapter along with Lando Calrissian. The film Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will come out on December 20, 2019.
