Tencent, the world’s largest gaming company, and one of the biggest game publishers worldwide have come up with Chess Rush, Tencent’s own version of the Auto Chess.
Auto Chess, which is extremely popular as of late, features a sort of automatic chess match, and has been offered not only by Epic Games but also by Valve as ‘Dota Underlords’.
In this strategy game, matches would be played on an 8×8 chessboard. It features a roster of 50+ different characters from which players can build their own teams.
Tencent has advertised that Chess Rush would not be a “pay to win” kind of a game, and that players have to have skill and maybe just a smidgen of luck in order to win.
Chess Rush contains the options of classic matches that span more than 40 minutes and turbo matches that would take not more than 10 minutes.
The feature ranked play adds the competitive edge to the game, whereby enthusiasts could test their skills against others to ascend the leaderboards’ ranks.
With the help of the co-op mode, a player can create a team consisting of their friends in order to play against other teams.
Tencent’s Chess Rush is a free-to-play game available on Android and iOS mobile platforms, indicating that microtransactions within the game would be involved. However, it is expected that purchases won’t be too overbearing.
