Tesla, initially reported that it will launch its enhanced autopilot in mid of December last year. But now the company has announced that the new Autopilot software is reaching about 1000 HW2-era cars.

The company claimed that the P100D performance update should be hit by January 5th to a handful of car owners. moreover, the users will have an extra treat if they splurged on a recent Model S or X.

Autopilot update will arrive till late January. This much delay in the launch of update is understandable as all newer vehicles have upgraded sensor hardware, and Tesla especially rolls out hardware-specific features – Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla

Elon Mask revealing this news, tweeted that

“HW2 Autopilot software uploading to 1000 cars this eve. Will then hold to verify no field issues and upload to rest of fleet next week.”

Tesla clarifies that users have to be prepared for the gaps between the launching of various updates.
