She likes to lose herself in music and daydreams quite often. Travelling excites her and photography is her passion- nature is her favorite subject. Writing is cathartic for her. A happy-go-lucky kind of person, she tries to remain calm and serene through daily life.

Recently, TikTok, the world’s leading short-form mobile videos platform, launched the #SafeHumSafeInternet initiative in India in contribution to its global #BetterMeBetterInternet campaign to support the annual Safer Internet Day (February 4) initiative in order to raise awareness about online safety in today’s world.

As a part of the #SafeHumSafeInternet initiative, TikTok has launched a new safety feature this Friday. Through this safety feature, users can now make use of the “Filter Comments” feature to:

  • filter self-defined words from the comments section, in both Hindi and English,
  • change the listed words anytime they want.

Up to 30 user-defined words would be automatically removed from the comments section through the “Filter Comments” feature.

In the app, there is already a limitation to who can react/comment to a user’s posts, message them, or even download content from their account, thanks to its privacy and safety settings that work according to TikTok’s commitment to maintaining a safe and positive in-app environment.

TikTok, also known as Douyin in China, is owned by China-based ByteDance and has over 54 million monthly active users in India.
