Twitter decided to give more visibility and simplify the use of Lists, a little-known feature, but it can be quite useful for those who want to create timelines from specific interests. In a test started with selected users from the United States, the functionality becomes accessible from a swipe on the home screen of the social network in order to facilitate access and encourage use.
In the normal interface, the Lists feature is accessed from a tap in the profile itself, in a specific option. The new design, still under trial, adds bars at the top of the timeline to indicate more content. Simply swipe your finger to navigate between options and have access to all custom timelines, which can be created from different parameters.
It is possible, for example, to include only friends or accounts related to a topic directed for research, study, news monitoring or any other reason. Do you like a specific series of games from an artist or do you want to follow the whole conversation about your team in the social network? This is the way and you do not even have to follow a profile so that it is part of a list, just add it from the options of each user, independently.
The feature is used by some, even, as a simpler way to track a person’s posts without actually following it. To allow this, Twitter also ensures the creation of private lists, which only the user responsible for them can see. Most of the time, however, use goes far from the stalk and serves more as a way to filter the random postings of the timeline to specifically focus on points of interest.
In the short publication on the subject, Twitter claims to be thinking for some time now in creating an easy system of customizable timelines, with the change in the orientation of the Lists and may be a response to this. The company asks for feedback from the users added to the test, which is still small and brings news that has no date to reach the public. Only those using the social network’s mobile version can access the new features.
