Twitter compose button menu clicking, which launches options to either join Spaces, share photos or gifs, was an exclusive for the iOS app. According to the reverse engineer, Jane Manchun Wong, the button is coming to the Android app of Twitter.

As per Wong’s tweets, the social media platform is currently working on the button, so it might be a few weeks before all Android users experience the compose button.

Twitter’s decision has shocked many users, not only because Twitter is relatively late in doing so, but mainly because many iOS users were unaware of the function of the compose button.

Twitter certainly did a marvelous job by hiding it. However, several users have also complained that they found this step strange precisely because Twitter first bought the Material Design FAB for iOS and not for Android.

This assumption does not come as a shock, especially because many users thought that the UI started with the Android version of the app since it is such an essential part of Material Design.

A few weeks ago, Twitter made its audio chat room Spaces available to Android users. In January, the social media giant introduced a limited version of the app, which is the biggest rival to the Clubhouse app on iOS.

Since then, Twitter’s beta testing for the Android app had finally expanded to come to a close a few weeks back. Twitter Spaces has a limit of 10 speakers, but the numbers of listeners are limitless. Additionally, Twitter had also introduced support for voice-based direct messages in India last month.

With the compose button’s inclusion, maybe the design difference between the Android app and the iOS app could be merged. As mentioned earlier, the compose button for Android is still in its developing phase, so it might be some time before the new button gets rolled out across all Android devices.
