Uber is now looking forward to partnering with Indian automaker company Mahindra to produce electric vehicles in India. There was an official announcement from the two companies on Friday. The Government of India is undertaking a project aiming to electrify all its vehicles by 2030.

Uber is planning to deploy hundreds of electric vehicles in Delhi and Hyderabad by March 2018. Madhu Kannan, the Chief Business Officer for India and emerging markets of Uber, told reporters in Mumbai that they are also considering the possibility of expanding the pilot to other cities as well.
