Vivo has announced its latest smartphone, the Y83, in China, revealing a list of specs that make it an affordable mid-range handset.
Vivo Y83 is sporting a 6.22-inch HD+ IPS display with minimal bezels and a 19:9 aspect ratio. It is the pioneering smartphone to pack MediaTek’s latest Helio P22 octa-core 12nm SoC, which was introduced only last week.

The handset runs the Android 8.1 Oreo packing FunTouch OS 4 that offers Game Mode, smart reminders, and more. It also bears a glossy black mirror design with changing color effects via light reflecting from various directions.
Y83 is hosting 4GB RAM and 64GB internal, with up to 256GB expandable via microSD card. The Hybrid dual SIM phone carries a 3260mAh battery and weighs 150 grams. There is a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash and f2.2 aperture and an 8 MP front camera with the same aperture, AI beauty feature, and face unlock. There’s no fingerprint reader.
The device has three color options: Black, Aurora White, and Red. It will be priced at 1,498 Yuan or $234 or about Rs. 15,890.
