Back in April this year, Chinese smartphone maker Vivo entered the Indian market with the Vivo X90 series, the device which had earlier launched in China. Now, the mobile brand has officially confirmed the launch date for its much-awaited Vivo X100 series, which will succeed the Vivo X90 series.
The grand unveiling is scheduled for November 17, 2023, and the tech world is buzzing with excitement as Vivo promises to set new standards in smartphone technology and design. Before this announcement, the smartphone had received several leaks ranging from specs, design and features.
The Vivo X100 series launch event will take place in China, the company’s home turf, adding a touch of local pride to this significant event. With a track record of producing cutting-edge smartphones that push the boundaries of technology, Vivo’s latest endeavour is set to generate significant attention not only in China but worldwide.
Vivo X100 Series: What to Expect
Just like the current Vivo X90 series, the upcoming Vivo X100 is expected to come in multiple series. Rumours suggest that the device will include X100 and X100 Pro models featuring impressive camera capabilities, and large batteries with fast charging.
According to a recent Weibo post posted by DCS, the standard Vivo X100 variant is anticipated to have a Sony IMX920 primary camera, while the Sony IMX989 sensor is reportedly used as the primary camera for the Vivo X100 Pro. The 5,400mAh battery in the Pro version of the range is also anticipated to support 50W and 100W wireless charging.
However, the standard model is reportedly anticipated to include a 5,100mAh battery with 120W wired charging capability. The X100 is probably going to lack wireless charging, much like the X90. Additionally, according to rumours, each of the series smartphones will have a 64-megapixel periscope zoom camera and an IMX663 ultra-wide lens.
As we know, the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC is anticipated to launch on November 6th, and the Vivo X100 is rumoured to use this processor. The chipset’s performance is believed to be comparable to that of the Apple iPhone 15 Pro, while the Pro+ might come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
The smartphone series is likely to run on Android 14-based Funtouch OS custom skin out of the box with an independent V3 ISP. Other expected features of the device are an AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, curved edges, and a punch-hole cutout.
With just over a month remaining until the launch, tech enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the full details of the smartphone series. As we draw closer to the launch date, the anticipation and excitement surrounding the Vivo X100 series are only expected to intensify. Stay connected with TechGenyz for more updates.
