Waymo is all set to take a step as they bring their service of self-driving Waymo One to the public. They are planning to invite early riders which they ferreted out from their research work, ahead of rolling it out to the public.
They will first offer Waymo One to the 100 riders who are to use this technology, and gradually they will make it available for more people after they add up more drivers and places.
This technology is still very new to a lot of people and that is the reason why they are taking each step carefully and have kept comfort and convenience as a priority for riders, and trained drivers have been asked to supervise Waymo One vehicles.
“Almost 10 years ago, we were founded as the Google self-driving car project to explore one simple question, how can we be best to use fully self-driving technology to make the road safer? We have been focused on building the world’s most experienced driver ever since. In April 2017, we first invited members of the public to ride in our cars through our early rider program. We chose a diverse and passionate group to give us feedback and work directly with our product and research teams”, said the CEO John Krafcik.
After riding the first time, riders always have questions. This is why they have placed support systems in the front and center so that with a click on a button present in the car console screen riders will get connected to a rider support agent and proceed with their query.
