Sony Japan has uncovered a new camera for low-vision people that projects images onto the retina and also recognizes clear images.
The new camera named DSC-HX99 RNV kit will be officially unveiled on March 24th.
The kit uses QD Laser's technology which can directly project the images captured by the camera onto the retina for people with poor vision.
The kit consists of Sony CyberShot DSC-HX99 digital camera + QD Laser retinal projection viewfinder with a weak laser to project the optical three primary colours RGB onto the human retina.
The Sony CyberShot DSC-HX99 digital camera features a 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor with 18.2 effective megapixels, a 24-720mm zoom lens, and an LCD touch screen that supports 4K shooting.

Currently, the DSC-HX99 RNV kit is sold offline at Sony direct-sale stores in Japan for a starting price of ¥109,800.
