A new WhatsApp beta for Android that allows users to make some changes to the interface when creating text status updates is officially rolled out.
According to the American instant messaging service, the small changes to the interface for text status updates, are available to certain Android beta testers that install the latest updates of the app. The new feature is marked as a compatible update, but some users may receive the same feature in some previous updates as well.
WhatsApp disclosed the information today when it rolled out a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.22.11.13.
Given the latest updates, the instant messaging service has moved the emoji, text, and background color selector to the top of the screen, making the section seem the same as it does on iOS.
However, for users who have the new caption view, it will be available when making a text status update. As such, you can instantly modify the audience for the current text status, but you will need to access WhatsApp Privacy Settings to change who can get future status updates.
